Matthews owned by Ernest Hemingway
The huge Matthews to the left was owned by Ernest Hemingway, who was an avid sportsman as well as an author. Perhaps even more impressive is the size of the Tarpon hanging from the side of the boat!
To the right: "This model has so many unusual features it is ideal for cruising, fishing, or day use. A large combination toilet-dressing room forward provides privacy and ample storage room. The large unobstructed cabin has four wide berths, two clothes lockers and dining table. The galley extends full-width of the cabin. Two windows on each side of cockpit add weather protection to the long, roomy cockpit. Canopy is foreshortened. The Playboat is perfectly suited for day cruising or fishing."
